Nice Guys Finish When? [Apr. 18th, 2010|12:17 pm]

Love, (or like, whichever is less offensive) is a difficult subject, because although some may try to classify guys/girls into different types, everyone is different and have different personalities. So, with your eyes' permission, I would like to say my piece on the subject through experiences and self-examination.

Love for me is the easiest and hardest emotion of all, I mean like all things in life it has it's pros and cons. For example, it's easy to say "I love you", but it's tough to stick it out. Ok, I have to pause my little speech for a second. It's really hard for me to put my thoughts into words, this has always been a big thing in my life, but I'm still not all that good at talking/typing about this. Ok, anyway... We see love everywhere, movies, books, school, EVERYWHERE, and for someone like me that started out just genuinly wanting to be a nice and cool person, it gets hard to keep up with your own personality. What I mean is that I started out (and I hate not being modest) being a fun and sweet guy, but as I grew older I started to want more out of my friendships with girls; and the constant observation of love made me crave that happiness they had. And I think that alot of guys out there have been like this at one point or another, but we have all been warped by what we see and what we hear, and have been turned into these creatures (pardon my terms guys) that just want to feel that sense of love. Now this is where I might get a little emotional haha. Back in the day I had a friendship with a girl, this really great friend who was just all-around cool. And as time went by I wanted a closer connection to this person. And so we went through some junk and I just was bugging the crap out of her calling her everyday. So she got annoyed and there was a whole deal with and her family where I felt like an ass and it just, well, ha went downhill. So I don't really think I ever recovered from that. Oh, and it actually did have atleast one pro, I'm real good friends with this girl today. So after that I went through this phase where I listened to a bunch of love songs and stuff, something i'm not very proud of, nah wasn't fun. So yea, that was the evident first decline to where I am now, but I'm slowly retracing my steps and will soon hopefully be back to where I started. Anyways, I'm rambling. So I don't want to sound negative and sound like I think guys are sick, twisted guys, but it happens. And it's really a pain when the nice guys realize that they aren't getting anywhere and they see how un-lonely the other folks are. But that's just me. So yea, this may sound off but this is me trying to put my thoughts into words, is it working? Let me know what you think, I'll try getting this down some more and get back to you on a later post, bye!!!

Hey everybody! I'm trying to think of something to say, I didn't really have anything in mind to post today, but i didn't want to wait so long to post again like I did before Easter. So, oh! Something I've been wanting to do. If you read my last post, then you'll know that I don't want who I am on this Journal to be altered by who reads it. However, I DO want to know if anyone actually reads this stuff. So, if you listen/care about what I say here, please comment on this post. Even if you only say something as simple as "Hi", it would be much appreciated. Anyways, don't you just hate country music? No, nevermind bad topic. Oh! I know, I can do some plugs. I don't know if this is "Legal" or whatever but if any of you listen to podcasts, read on. I, like few people I know, am a super big geek, so if you like to Geek Out, check these out:

Starkvilles House of El: An all-things-Superman podcast that is based on a commentary for the hit WB show "Smallville".
www.smallvillepodcast.com

Geek Out Loud: a podcast were you can sit back, relax, and Geek Out! Hosted by Steve Glosson.
www.geekoutonline.com

Round 3: A podcast where our heroes Derek and Steve discuss three topics, three times a week. Hosted by Derek Russel and Steve Glosson.
www.round3show.com

Batman-Ace Detective: An audio drama produced by "Pendant Productions" about the DC hero, "Batman", and his adventures. This and other audio dramas like "Superman-The Last Son of Krypton", and "Wonder Woman-Champion of Themyscara" can be found at www.pendantaudio.com

And if you have any podcasts similar to these, let me know! I can't get enough of 'em! Also, tell them you heard about it from me. So, since I honestly can't think of to talk about, I'll leave you folks alone. Thanks for stopping by!

PS: I really have plenty to say if I wanted to talk about my everyday life, but since I'm trying to talk more about what's on my mind and heart, it may be boring from time to time. BUT, if you would like to follow my everyday life, look me up on Twitter! You can find me at the username: jbscaf2, and please follow me, I need followers!!!

Easter! [Apr. 4th, 2010|08:06 pm]

Hey everybody! Sorry it's been so long since
you've heard from me last but as usual I really haven't had much to talk about, and the times I HAVE had something I was busy at the time. And I figured the Easter season was just as good as ever. Anyways, how was April fools? I must've visited atleast 5 news websites then and all the stuff they have posted was a huge prank and it got me every time! Haha one of my favorite television "smallville" has a site called "Kryptonsite", and posted atleast five news post that have been total bull. I laughed so hard at myself for believing it! Also, I just heard a few days ago that there is a sequel to one of my favorite movies-Tron! The sequel will be called Tron Legacy, i'm so happy! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Tron is a movie about a computer genius named Flynn (Young Jeff Bridges) who gets sucked inside a computer and plays video games, battles computer programs, and with the help of friendly programs tries to get back home. It's a great movie that was made at a pivitol point of the technological age, and for those of you that haven't seen it GO PICK IT UP!!! It really is awesome! Ok next subject, I'm trying to get into a more serious side of things on this blog/livejournal/whatever, to try and really express my thoughts and emotions in a deeper way than I do/currently can in real life, something so many other people can do very easily. I guess I can go ahead and tell you the real reason I started this LJ. The past year or so of my life I have been trying/struggling to discover my true self and who I really am under the mask(s) I wear. I have always been craving relationships, and because of that I would see how certain people act, and act similar. And now that I have learned to be very detailed in the way I act around different people I am now stuck not knowing who I really am. So, since I don't know who does and doesn't read this blog, I am freed of that confinement that tells me what to act and how to talk, so this is slowly helping me realize two things: 1) I don't need to act certian wats to please everyone. 2) what I write here, is who I am. I have enjoyed doing it so far and I hope everyone, if even only one person, will enjoy what I have to say! Thanks for reading!

Weekend Update: Scafy Night Live [Mar. 16th, 2010|08:41 pm]

[Tags|, , , , , , , , , , , , ]

This past weekend has not been too out of the ordinary: Became addicted to a new song/singer (Con Te Partiro-Andrea Bocelli), watched several movies (Click, The Mummy, School for Scoundrels, and so on and so on), and listened to my favorite podcast: Starkville's House of El (Which if you are a superman fan at all, you should listen to!). I feel in that position again where I have no clue what to say, so instead of sitting at the computer starring at the monitor, I will try and find something to talk about....
Wonder Woman! Yea, a couple hours ago I watched the latest straight-to-DVD Wonder Woman movie and I actually liked it (BTW, it was animated)! It dealt with the traditional WW story (But really the invisible jet is what really hooked me in), but I won't spoil it for anyone that may want to see it! And on another note, I had no idea cartoons could be so... What's a word I can use without sounding perverted?... Provocative haha. It's not that bad except for like two quick scenes, anyhow.... Like I said, haven't done much worth mentioning, heck, half the crap I say isn't worth mentioning! In upcoming news: the big twilight sequel is being released Friday night (or Saturday morning for those of us that live in the middle of nowhere), so all you twilighters are probably looking forward to that. I myself have never been that much of a fan of it, I just say that I have read all the books and watched all the movies for one reason: Twilight is the ONE AND ONLY SUBJECT that 99% of the women in America love twilight! (For example: "Yea so what are you doing tomorrow?" "Not really anything, I'm thinking of going to see 'New Moon'." "New Moon?! Can I come?!"). But never the less I will still be renting the movie this Saturday if I can get my hands on it. But the movie I'm looking foreward to the most is... Hot Tub Time Machine!!!! I mean, come on! John Cusack, Time Travel, it's gonna be epic!!!
Anyway, gotta go, I'm missing Lost (Yes, that's a TV Show- "Lost").
BYE!!!!

Jay-El: The Brother of Superman [Mar. 12th, 2010|03:33 pm]
Jason Scafidel
This is a story I wrote about... Well, the brother of Superman. Please give me as much feedback as you want.
P.S. There are a few typos... Sorry.

JAY-EL THE BROTHER OF SUPERMAN

CHAPTER ONE: EARTH #28

During “The Crisis on Infinite Earths” – at a period when no superhero was only concerned with earth- a large meteorite, about the size of California was steadily drifting through space, quite close to the earth. Although it was clearly detectable by NASA satellites, it went practically unnoticed because of a global panic.

Out of the 94 total universes there are 15 that were never explored. One of said universes is Earth 28 (also known as “Fast Earth”), a universe that is identical in almost every way to Earth One, except for the way time flows. On “Fast Earth, the orbit of earth and all other planets is slightly faster, causing the whole universe to slowly advance 20 years into the future, and would’ve advanced further had the universe not been destroyed in 1986.

The meteorite was no less than 300 miles away, and was getting closer by the second. As it moved through space it barely missed the earth, but the planet’s gravity caused the meteor to change course and make a steady curve around the earth. As it was passing, the sudden sweep around the earth caused a sort of air-friction-earthquake right over the North Pole, and it started almost exactly where the “Fortress of Solitude” is.

Because of earth’s gravity, it would continue to orbit around earth. So while the meteor was getting close to the earth for the first time on Earth One, that same meteor was closely circling for the third time 20 years later, and scientists (After a few years of analysis) found that the meteor would impact our planet causing a seismic tremor throughout half of the earth and could kill millions. As the meteor gained closer and closer to the earth, Superman flew up to greet it. Little did he know that the meteor was a final remnant of the explosion of krypton, causing it to become kryptonite. So even though Superman flew with great force, the kryptonite radiation affected him before he was even out of the earth’s atmosphere. The meteor then, without anything stopping it, crashed into the earth.  An earthquake was even caused in almost the exact point as it was on Earth One (the “Fortress”). The earthquakes between both points in both universes caused a brief connection between the two Fortress’, causing Jor-El (Whose life force was in the Fortress) of Earth One to automatically download all the knowledge from the Jor-El of Fast Earth.

CHAPTER TWO: BIO-BLUEPRINTS

After the earthquake of Earth One was over Jor-El was able to process all the knowledge he obtained from “Fast Earth”. He then realized that in 20 years earth would reach its doom, and the meteor had to be destroyed as soon as possible. However, it would be next to impossible to be destroyed, for any missile would simply break it into more pieces and bring an earlier destruction with a higher mortality rate. He discovered that the meteor itself was a final remnant of krypton, which was radiated to the extent that even his son could not destroy it. So since Jor-El’s son was in another universe (Earth Two), Jor-El decided to keep it a secret from his son for as long as possible, for even though Kal-El would know of his own death, he would surely still attempt to save the earth. Jor-El knew he had to keep his son safe.

Soon after exploring all of the knowledge Jor-El had downloaded from his future counterpart, he came across a program that not everyone had yet -the internet. The internet program had also stabilized a steady connection to Fast Earth’s databases, which included access to most of the information we have today. So he decided to try to find a way to clone his son without Kal-El knowing of it. Through rigorous searches he found a file from Luthor Corp entitled “Project: Superman”, which he was able to hack into effortlessly. The file was a type of journal of several failed and one successful attempt to create a clone of his son, the successful clone being called “Superboy”.

By carefully studying the Luthor Corp file and other information about the art of cloning, Jor-El was able to transfer a combination of his own life force and a type of expandable life-matter (From Krypton), into a crystal from inside the fortress. There were a few problems however, one was that Jor-El had no actual kryptonian DNA to put in the crystal; the other was that he needed red solar energy to start the growth of the crystal’s cellular structure. First he had to get positive DNA, and to do that he made an extremely hard decision, he had to send someone into the Phantom Zone (A kryptonian version of Alcatraz) and extract the DNA of Zod, one of both he and his son’s worst enemies. Jor-El secretly enlisted the aid of his niece, Kara Zor-El (A.K.A. Supergirl). After hearing word of Jor-El’s needs, she flew to the fortress as soon as she could.

“I am here Jor-El,” said Kara, “what do you want from me?”

“I need your help Kara.” Jor-El replied, “A great tragedy is coming that will kill my son, and many of the people of earth.”

“If your son is in danger, let me fight with him!” She shouted, trying to prove to Jor-El that she was just as strong as her cousin. “Together Kal-El and I can withstand any enemy!”

“I did not bring you here to tell me of your strength.” Jor-El said, being firm while remaining calm. “I know that you and my son are mighty protectors of the earth, but this threat is not something you can fight. It is a large piece of radiated-kryptonian land, something that neither you nor my son can defeat. I have called you here because you are not as emotionally attached to the earth as Kal-El is, you will not act as impulsively for their safety.”

“If that is the case, then I will do as you ask.” Kara said, giving in to her uncle’s side of the argument.

“Thank you Kara.” Jor-El said. “Your obedience means much to me. But I must tell you this is a dangerous journey; I will have to send you to the Phantom Zone.”

“Why?”

“I am trying to clone Kal-El into a being that will have all of the genetic traits of a member of the El family, while at the same time making the boy immune to the substance you call, “Kryptonite.”

“But why must I go to the Phantom Zone?” Kara asked, slightly upset that Jor-El did not wish to clone her, she had always wanted a sister.

“This has been a painful decision, but the only DNA that will fit my genetic model is that of Zod.”

“Zod?!” Kara exclaimed. “I will have to face Zod?!” Kara said, although she had never met him, she was afraid of what may happen to her

“Do not fear, Kara” Jor-El said, although he himself was not afraid of Zod, he knew of the fear he struck into others. “Zod will be powerless in the Phantom Zone.”

“But won’t I be powerless also?”

“Not quite,” He replied, “During my days on Krypton, I invented a device that could harness the power of the yellow sun, and transfer it into any kryptonian being, giving them the same abilities one of us would have on earth, I called it the Solar Energy Capturer.” You could practically hear the pride in his voice. “But I never used it because it actually has to get its power from yellow solar energy, something Krypton lacked. You can find this device along with others you will need down in the basement of this fortress.” He said, and shortly after clearing up a few technicalities with her mission Kara was prepared to leave to the Phantom Zone. Jor-El then opened up the portal and she was pulled into the Kryptonian prison that is, the Phantom Zone.

Stories To Tell-Part 1 [Mar. 12th, 2010|03:29 pm]
Jason Scafidel
Hey, me again.... (Not disappointed are you?)
If you have the slightest interest in my LJ/Blog/Whatever, you may have noticed that one of my interests on my profile is "Superman". In case you're wondering... Yes, I am a superhero/comic book nerd, I can't help it! Superman is one of the most Iconic symbols on the planet! If you just walk up to a random person (Even in some other countries), odds are they will recognize the name "Superman". So, yea, it's one of my favorite subjects.... Just thought you would like to know. So, speaking of Superman... I have always loved writing, and not too long ago I decided that I wanted to write my own adventure about superman (Some of you real nerds out there may know these kinds of stories by the term, "Fan Fiction"). So, I did. It's -in my opinion- a really cool story about the idea of Superman having a brother... And for those interested later today I will post the first and second chapters of the story, and if anyone see's it and likes what they see, let me know and I'll post more! I also did some pictures to go along with the current subject in each chapter, which I will be posting also. Hope you enjoy!

Say Anything [Mar. 11th, 2010|05:38 pm]
Jason Scafidel
[Current Mood |:D]

No, I'm not talking about that John Cusack movie. No,  I'm talking about the fact that whenever most people start a blog, they have almost no clue what to say, they just want to have they're own personal site, or blog, or whatever. I know that I have made about 15-20 different websites/blogs/fan groups/fill-in-the-blank. But this time I have decided to keep my ground on this one, and hopefully be heard. Anywho, I don't have much time today 'cause I'm about to go watch one of my favorite movies ("Batman Forever", although, It's not one of my interests for some odd reason)! By the way, movies are the best! I strive to see as many movies as I can! Sadly, I live in a small middle-of-nowhere town so I have nearly cleaned out our blockbuster (That's why I love netflix!). Yea, movies are a big thing for me, my entire life I tried different ways to tell stories, writing, vocally, I even had a tape recorded and would tell stories using it (I like to refer to them as "Podcasts of the 1990's", just to sound fancy). It wasn't until I was almost thirteen that I fell in love with movies, well, I always liked movies, but it was really then that I was actually able to understand and grasp what it took to make them. So naturally, I found myself a camera and started making my own movies, it was loads of fun! Especially when I got really good at it. Well, no time to talk now, I think I hear the sound of Tommy Lee Jones in my living room. BYE!!!!
